The choice is yours

Having born as a human beings we, everyone of us have gone through a lot of emotions in our lifetime. There are pain, sorrows, happiness, sadness in just everything we have gone through. Life is put this way. Work, earn for living, survive and adjust, the pain and the gain, imagination and the truth, the plan that never materialise, the fight for a cause, the thought of making it big and the rat-race for a transient happiness. The search for happiness continues.

Sandwitched between duties, survival and happiness I bet most of us, including me stay confused. Far away from families we live and struggle. The first few years are the most interesting part of anyone's life. New place, new friends, new environment, feeling of Independence which is followed by sense of confidence and vision of great heights. It goes on and there comes a time where we are being treated as a grown ups. Yes.. our voices are heard and  our opinions finds a place. Sense of responsibility pitches in and the everlasting search of happiness continues.

It is during this search for happiness that we lose the best part of our life. For us who spend our childhood in the most friendly atmosphere where we can just trust anyone the search for happiness is almost really dificult since we tend to compare just every situations of incident with our paradise Mizoram. While driving on a highway, a person met with an accident, the response here is really different from the place we are. We are different in ever sense, believe it or not. Our minds evolve differently, simple straightforward and helping nature blended with the sense of tlawmngaihna that grew inside us are the gems that we inherit from our forefathers.

Bulls and Bears

Bulls and Bears There was a time when I found a new interest. I have been following news and facts about this new interest for more than a year and I was really into it. This interest grew exponentially as I learn more about its tricks and techniques and the main driving force was the hope of making some extra bucks. The first thing I did was to order a book online from Dalal Street Investment Journal which I thought would help me to understand more about Capital Markets and Trading. The book “The Stock market” was delivered within two days and I was given a concession of Rs 40 for ordering the book online. Well this book has a simple language and easy to understand examples about the whole Stock Market thing. For beginners who have developed this interests and wants to understand more about the Stock market operations and Trading. I'll say its a good book.

Sparing my time everyday to read each and every chapter in this book, my interest grew beyond bounds. I remember I used to actually sit down with calculator to work on a Balance Sheet of Tata Steel and it helps. Operating margin , Profit Before Tax (PBT), Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) etc was the terms I encountered and yes I kind of liked it. It makes sense to me that I learn every possible thing about a stock market before I dive in. Futures and Options was the topic that was difficult to understand. The underlying value of a commodity.. blah..blah..blah.. Hedging Funds etc ; the concept was nice to know.

A trek to Visapur - The Third Part

The Fort
A quick survey around this place shows us a may-be-trail which out of no option we followed. Ehsan still stick to not going forward. Rohit convinced Ehsan that we walk for only 5 more minutes and if we didn't find any definite trail then we decide on the next action. Rohit moved fast and he was out of sight into the bush. As the day was slowly moving to darkness the risk increases. Reptiles, Snakes and some other nocturnal animals flashed our thoughts.

Eventually I could hear Rohit saying he found a trail. This was the Moment of Magic to my ears. Again comes another hurdle. To add to our confusion there was two trails ahead once again. Not knowing which one to follow, we blankly looked each other. All of us were visibly upset. Instincts didn't help us anymore. And her comes the saviour "Andre". A guy named Andre has stick a note an the branch of a small bush. The note reads "TAKE RIGHT FROM HERE, 5 MINUTES WALK. ANDRE ". Confidence builds up again. Yeah.. 5 minutes.

The right trail takes us to a very thick and dark patch which finally ends after 5 minutes to the base of the Fort. The entrance of the fort could be seen from here. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to climb up to the top. There was a steep slope of rocks which is more of waterfall than a trail. Since it didn't rain for some days already, there was a little water flowing and we can climb up the rocks without much hassle. We are lucky to be able to reach the top at the right time, though a bit late than expected. Darkness beginsthe moment we reach the top.

Pitching the tent
The 500 Mtrs range LED Torch which we purchased from Aim Point was the only source of light from here on. We noticed a bones ( may be of cow) lying around probably eaten by some wild animals. We walked the valley in search of a right place to pitch in our tent. After pitching the tent, we had to collect firewoods to light a bonfire. Camphor that we brought along with us was really helpful as a substitute of fuel to light a fire. The fire was a necessity since I heard somewhere that wild animals won't go near a fire. So it means it gives us warmth as well as acts as a protection from wild animals. Here I learnt the peculiar nature of fire. Rohit said one sensible thing about fire which I never thought about ever. I am not sure how many of us might have thought of fire in this perspective. While I was lighting the camphor with a matchbox Rohit said "Fire is really awesome. Only Human beings know how to make a fire. If any animals would have known it, there could be serious problems for human beings. Imagine monkeys could make a fire, it may light up the entire city." Well this was true. Only man can make fire because man are born Intelligent.

A trek to Visapur - The Second Part

To read the first part Click A trek to Visapur – The First part

We keep on walking with a loads on our shoulder, excited and enthusiastically looking forward for the rest of the trek, discussing on the way about the feelings that we are going to experience after we reach the top of the cliff. We kind of forget that we may need to walk some 2-3 hrs. Visapur Fort was the destiny and we are just a few steps from our starting point.

After walking for sometime we decide to take a narrow trail which was more energy intensive than thought. For me I was a bit slow in walking and this two guys (Rohit and Ehsan) kept walking so easily that I kind of felt guilty even to ask them to take rest for sometime. For Rohit climbing those elevated trail seems to be easy even though he was carrying the heaviest load (probably 2-3Kgs more than us). I kind of stopped pleading to him for rest because I know his generic reply already. "Joshi, we almost reached" . I had to live with "We almost reach" situation in the previous trek and kept on walking till I reach a situation where I started thinking "If God exists, then this is where I need help".

A trek to Visapur - The First part

Realizing that there is a shop somewhere in Wonderland that has a vast collection of all trekking and camping equipments, we rushed to this shop (Aim Point, Shop No. 59, Wonderland, MG Road, Pune) to buy a Sleeping Mat. Ehsan make it clear to the shop-owner that we didn't want to spend much on the mat not being a professional trekkers. The owner(Mr. Mohammed Bandukwala) of this shop (Aim Point) is a very pleasant and a soft-spoken gentleman, who has a courtesy to listen and give suggestion and explain the different equipments he puts on display.

Before narrating more about our trek stories, I couldn't stop myself to write more about Aim Point.
Aimpoint has a vast collection of equipments like air-pistol, knives, trekkin boots, fishing rods, barbecue-grill, light weight butane gas to binoculars, head lamp, lantern, backpack, tent, sleeping bag and lot more good quality stuffs. The best thing visiting this shop is the friendly nature of the shop-owner and his understanding about what the customer wants. Mr. Mohammed Bandukwala is always ready to explain about anything you ask about the equipments. Out of curiosity I happen to ask a lot of silly question about some equipments which I have no Idea how it must be operated. Mr. Mohammed Bandukwala explains it generously. If anyone has to buy anything related to any kind of adventure you must be planning, I suggest you just walkin here.
